Labor Day Weekend Part 2 Twins First Birthday!

Our original plans for Labor Day weekend were to drive up to Arizona to an AirBnB with Rachel's whole family to celebrate the twins' first birthday.
One year old already!!!

Just as cute as can be!

Harder than ever to sit still for their pictures- good thing this is the last one.

So precious.

You can see her cute teeth that have grown in!

Instead of leaving Friday morning we ended up leaving Saturday late morning as soon as Sylvia was discharged from the hospital.  The house had a cool pac man game table the kids liked to play.  Here Tyler is also helping Sylvia with her breathing treatment.

When we arrived the twins opened their birthday presents because I knew they were getting pajamas from Grandma and Granddad Carson and I wanted them to wear them that night.

It was a present free for all and the big kids helped a lot too.  Unbeknownst to everyone, Camille and Hunter's gifts to the twins was a special announcement....

It took everyone a while to figure it out haha!

Camille is pregnant!!

The Arizona house also had an awesome pool!  The kids loved it.

Even the twins!

Cannonball!

Everyone enjoyed the pool, even the adults.  The weather was perfect.

Melody needed some snuggles after to get warmed up.

We decorated the house so cute and fun for the twins birthday.  Here are their new jammies!

Sam brought his girlfriend, Sarah, along for the weekend so we could all meet her.  She is wonderful!  Andrew took this picture.

Another cool feature of the house was the pool table.

Hunter and Bennett playing pool.

Sunday morning we went to church.  Here Grandma and Grandpa are with the birthday babies.

We loved their custom birthday outfits from Etsy.  Too cute!

Mommy and Daddy before church.

We could not love these two more!

All the kids together.  Poor Sylvia doesn't quite look herself yet.

Christian has started to walk and Melody just started taking steps too!!

The party theme was owls.  Just because it's cute.  Here are the cupcakes.  They are chocolate flavored with cream cheese frosting.

And the twins' cakes!  They are banana cakes with the same frosting.  Rachel baked them ahead of time and froze them along with shredded bbq pork for sliders.

Here are the fruit and veggie trays.  Owls again!

Rachel also made an owl banner seen behind the twins.

Singing to the twins.

Happy birthday to you!!!

Eating dinner and saying hello to silly Uncle Bennett.

Eating the cake!  Melody stuffed the oreos in her mouth right away.  They loved it.

Playing with Aunt Cami.

Eating birthday dinner together.

After dinner we showed a slideshow we made of the twins with cute pictures of them from birth.  We added songs like It takes Two, and the song September by Earth, Wind and Fire.

Even though we had less time together than originally planned, we made the most of our time together.  Sylvia snuggling Aunt Margaret.

Making breakfast with Grandma and Grandpa.

Andrew took this picture of Aunt Margaret.

Playing games with Aunt Cami.

Mommy made a Family Jeopardy game after the style of the extended Carson family.  The winner got an owl statue as the traveling trophy.

Sam and Sarah

Cleaning and packing before we left, Melody wanted Mommy so the baby carrier came in handy!

Ready to head home again!

We had a wonderful time celebrating the twins' first birthday.  We felt blessed we could come after all.  And meeting Sarah and learning about Camille and Hunter's baby were icing on the cake!

  1. Looks like you had a wonderful time in Arizona with your family and celebrating the twins' first birthdays! Reminds me of the fun time we had in Galveston, only we had lots more kids running around! I sure wish Tyler had been able to come to that reunion, too.
