Change of Command/Grandma's Visit

On July 3rd Tyler took command of an Air Traffic Services Company on Fort Bliss. We are really excited for this new phase of his career progression, and all the experiences that are in store for us and the Soldiers and families of everyone in F/2-501 GSAB!

Tyler's mom, who happened to plan a trip for the 4th of July anyway, flew into town about an hour before the ceremony was scheduled to start.

It was a hot summer day in Texas, but the everything went very well from Grandma arriving on time, the ceremony being conducted, and the refreshments afterwards.

Rachel was presented with a bouquet of yellow roses to celebrate her upcoming involvement with the Company also. The Christian and Melody got some baby toys while Andrew got some Legos and Sylvia got an Elsa baby doll.

Grandma sure was happy to see her Grand kids again, and they were equally glad to see her too!

Christian and Melody are such happy babies! They love being held by anyone, but especially love it when they are held by their parents or grandparents.

Are the kiddos smiling so big because they are with Grandma, or because we had a big bouncy castle set up in our yard?!?! (Tyler was scheduled to be gone for Army training for Andrew/Rachel's actual birthday, so we celebrated Andrew's birthday while Grandma Carson was in town, but that's a separate blog post)

Melody is such a calm, relaxed, snugly baby. Very easy to hold when you are video chatting with other family members like Grandma was doing in this picture.

One day while Tyler was a work, the rest of the family went to the zoo with Grandma.

We have been getting our money's worth out of the zoo annual pass we got. The kids love going there and find something new every time.

Sylvia inspecting the sea lion up close and personal.

Usually the lions are farther away from the glass, as if they know people are looking at them so they hide. They were right in front of the viewing area this time, perhaps it was the luck of the Grandma?

They just finished construction on a new portion of the zoo a couple of weeks before Grandma's visit. The kids had never been on this carousel before.

There were plenty of other older attractions at the zoo that are still fun though, such as the ever popular face cut out meerkat board.

We are so happy to have all of our sweet kiddos in our family, and grateful that we can still have opportunities to see relatives even though we live so far away from each other.

We are so excited for what the future has in store for us, and very glad that Grandma Carson could be here to share some very special days with us. Maybe Granddad Carson will be able to make the next trip!

End of Pre-K

We were hesitant to start Andrew in Pre-k when we first arrived in El Paso but he has loved it!
This picture was taken on Andrew's last day of afternoon Pre-K.

The school had an award's ceremony the last week of school.  Here Andrew is with his amazing teacher Mrs. Mora and his certificate.

Andrew made some great friends at school- Bennett and Liam.  Here they are after the ceremony.

Andrew also made a friend named Kennadie.  Her grandma is our neighbor and would take them to school sometimes.

The last day of school was a fun party day.  Tyler was able to go with Andrew.  They had bouncy houses and water slides.

Andrew and Bennett having fun!

They played musical chairs, had a goodie bag exchange, and hit a pinata.  Andrew's turn!

It was a really fun party and Tyler was so glad he could go!

We are so glad Andrew could have Mrs. Mora as his teacher.

We love our cute Pre-K graduate!!

Twins 9 months

Happy nine months old baby girl and boy!

What a beautiful sweetie!!

Our precious boy!  He is as happy as ever.

Look who is finally starting to crawl!! She was a bit behind her brother but she is doing wonderfully!

Crawling girl

It is the cutest thing to go into the babies' room in the morning or nap time and see them standing in their cribs, so happy to see you.

They sure do make us laugh.  A couple of young scholars we have here.

Not only do they walk around in the walkers, they run!

Sweet boy

Very messy after meal time.  Mommy lets the babies practice feeding themselves because it's a big time saver and also the babies are getting really good at it even if it means making a mess.  We've hosed off their high chairs on the back porch many times.

They can sit by themselves during bath time, we no longer need the baby bath seat!

Ready to eat again!

Getting cleaned up in the sink this time.  Two sinks, two babies.

And repeat.

Their personalities are so happy and sweet- it really is twice as much fun with twins.

Christian crawling the halls at church.

Every Sunday at church the babies miss their morning naps so sometimes they fall asleep in our arms (or even other people's arms when Mommy and Daddy are busy teaching at church).

We have two changing tables now, one downstairs in addition to the one in the babies' room.  It has been a great help with twice as many diapers to change.

Sunny smile girl.

Christian looked so handsome in his overalls.

What a sleepy baby!

Playing on the back porch with Sister.

Wrestling with Daddy!  Christian has his game face on.

Good morning Bubby!

They love love love their older brother and sister!
