March started out with a work sponsored Ski trip for Tyler. He had never been skiing before, so it was a good opportunity to finally check that off of his bucket list, while simultaneously getting a free day off of work!
It was a week day near the end of the ski season, so the mountain wasn't very crowded.
That was a good thing, because it would have been a big hit to Tyler's pride if lots of people had seen him wipe out in many spectacular and cringe worthy ways, even on the easiest and gentlest of slopes.
Obviously nobody is very good at something when it is their first time doing it, but Tyler doesn't think he has much of a knack for it and probably won't be doing much more in the future.
If nothing else, he had a good time being out side enjoying the beautiful Rocky Mountains!
This picture is a good representation of what Andrew likes to do these days, namely build things like Lincoln Log forts and Lego space ships. (In this particular picture, daddy was the one that actually built the houses, which Andrew demolished a little while later.)
He also likes finding tools or utensils and playing with them. Here is is putting ABC magnets on a spatula but he also finds and likes to play with measuring tapes, screwdrivers, keys, calculators, allen wrenches, and any kind of stick including curtain rods and tent poles. We always have to tell him "tools are not toys."
Sylvia's cheesy smile is super cute and something new she has been doing a lot lately. Her cuteness makes us forget about her two year old tantrums that happen about once a day. These tantrums can be caused by as little as us cutting up her food when she didn't want it cut up. But she sure is a cutie!
All ready for church! This year we have the 1pm church which means the kids don't get a nap, which is sometimes disastrous. But Andrew loves going to Primary! He is such a good boy in his class and learns so much. He also sings 'Choose the Right' louder than any kid in Primary because he knows all the words so well. (Tyler is a Primary teacher for the 11-12 year olds, and Rachel sometimes plays the piano in singing time so we get to see his cute Primary antics first hand.)
Sylvia said she wanted to wear Mommy's scarf over her Sunday dress because it made her look like a princess.
These next few pictures are a representation of what Mommy and the kids do every week, which is participate in a very well attended play group with other families from Church. The picture below was taken outside the nearby Nature Center with some of the play group friends.
We love our local library. We have been checking out 10-12 books every couple of weeks and the kids love playing in the play corner.

We also love visiting the different parks in the area. The kids have dubbed them clever names to differentiate between them. This is called the Walking Park because we walk to it. There also is the Driving Park, the Ice Cream Park, the Exercise Park, the Fort Carson Park, and more.
This is how the Ice Cream Park got it's name! We brought a picnic lunch there and ice cream cones to eat afterwards.

This day we saw some ducks, geese, a muskrat swimming in the pond, and even some deer running on the other side.

We went to the Pueblo Zoo for the first time this month. It wasn't as good as the Colorado Springs Zoo because it didn't have as many animals (Andrew's favorite animal- the giraffe- wasn't there) but we still had a great time.
The naked mole rats freaked everybody out. We included a picture for your viewing pleasure.

One of our favorite animals to see were the otters- there were two and they would swim and swirl right next to the glass. We recently read that after our visit one of the otters and an eagle passed away- I think from old age.

We sure do love our wonderful life here in Colorado, made all the better by our sweet, precious kiddos. We can't wait to add two more little ones to our family!
