February Fun

We had a great month of February- here are some cute pictures from the month.
A tradition that Andrew and Daddy have is to wake up before everyone else and play in the playroom together and then make breakfast.  Mommy gets breakfast in bed a lot.
Andrew is yawning in this picture and wearing Daddy's sweatshirt.

Happy Valentine's Day! Tyler bought Rachel some beautiful roses.

You can see the neighborhood lawn decorators celebrating Valentine's Day too.

Playing in the yard- Sylvia has stickers on her cheeks.

This adorable BYU coat was passed down to our family from someone in the ward- there are no more little ones to pass it down to in their family so now it is to be passed among the Carsons! I think cousin Alexa will be next to wear it.

Silly kids in the morning snuggling Mommy.  It was a bad year for sicknesses- in January we all got the flu and a couple other colds after that which made Rachel almost not recognize the morning sickness for what it was- she just thought she was still sick with a cold or flu.

Playing outside once the weather started to be nice- Mommy made a life size board game in sidewalk chalk on the driveway which kept the kids so entertained! They ran around on the paths, "climbed" the ladders, crossed the bridges and hopscotched all over it.

Baking with Mommy, I guess the Kitchen Aid was too loud. Notice their cute aprons- Sylvia's was sent by the Lees from Africa.

We met Daddy for lunch one day- it was a special treat, they even got Wendy's frosties (which they loved)!  An old couple asked me if they were twins.  Foreshadowing....

Our favorite weekend pastime- going on hikes!  We love when the weather gets nicer and we can spend more time outdoors.

Sylvia is just chillin'

Andrew loves jumping off things, in this case- a boulder.

Selfie overlooking Colorado Springs below. (Please note Rachel does have the other half of her face, it just didn't make it into the camera shot)

After hiking we had a picnic lunch near a creek. It had warmed up enough the kids wanted to dip their toes in the water.

They had so much fun!

Daddy helping Sylvia balance along a log bridge.  It was a perfect morning in nature!

Another day we went to the Pioneer Museum again.  Choo-choo! Sylvia is dressed as the train conductor.

Running errands at Walmart- the kids got distracted by the bikes.

This is a picture of us leaving the gym- we went to the YMCA two or three nights a week and most Saturday mornings. Daddy would meets us there after work and run a few miles on the tread mill. It was pretty nice routine.

Family snuggles

On another hike together.

We saw some ducks.

I think I forgot how to take pictures- the ground isn't that interesting, but it's a cute one of everyone else.

Selfie again! (Please note that Rachel's entire face did make it into the shot this time, both sides being clearly visible.)

Sylvia got out of the backpack to walk the whole way back and Andrew held her hand for most of it.

The kids have discovered Richard Scarry's "Busytown" books at the library and also the old TV show from the 90s and LOVE them.  They were so excited to ride the Lowly Worm ride at Walmart (their incentive for being good while Mommy shopped).  Andrew felt special because he carried the quarters the whole time in his pocket.

Our house is near the approach path for the Colorado Springs airport. It can be kind of loud sometimes, hearing planes fly over head. But sometimes we see fast moving fighter jets too, which is
 pretty cool.

We've had a very happy February full of fun.

  1. It looks like you guys always have so much fun! :) Nice captions. I am so glad you showed the second picture so we could be sure you actually had a face. :) In the picture under that (on the hike), I had to do a double-take because I thought Tyler looked so much like Dad!
