Spring Time

The weather is beginning to warm up here in Colorado as spring has officially begun. We have a few pictures from some recent fun spring activities.

 We jumped at the opportunity to go hiking again! It has been too long and Rachel was especially excited to visit her favorite hiking spot- Red Rock Open Space.

The weather was gorgeous and we really enjoyed the fresh air and mountainous scenery.

Andrew enjoyed himself too (as long as he had his "num-nums" aka fruit snacks).

Andrew was in the hiking backpack and Sylvia was in the Moby wrap. This worked out pretty well!

At the end of the hike is a lake and Andrew got out of the backpack to walk around and explore. 

Two geese swam over to us (probably thinking we had food) and Andrew watched the whole time fascinated.  He pointed at them and make duck noises. 

We saw lots of other families walking around enjoying the weather too!  It was a great day.

Sylvia slept the whole time.  Here she is at the end of the hike and she seems as content as ever.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! The kids dressed in green and we went to play group where Andrew painted a shamrock picture. That evening Rachel made shamrock shakes with banana and avocado, it was healthy and yummy.

Sylvia was napping so Mommy and Andrew played outside during spring time showers.

We love playing outside so it's exciting that the weather is getting warmer!

Sylvia 2 months

Our little Sylvia is 2 months old.  Her new discovery this month is smiling! She smiles and coos and gurgles when mommy or Andrew smile and talk to her.  Sylvia tends to be the most smiley right before she poops.  Her schedule is starting to be more predictable.  She takes three naps a day and is sleeping about 4-5 hours in a row at night.  We love our cute little miss!

Daddy/daughter picture! How cute! Sylvia has a strong neck and has always been great at tummy time. You can see her good neck stability in this picture.

When Daddy gets home from work, he loves spending time with the kiddos. 

Mommy and the two little ones have a pretty good daily routine.  Andrew loves his little sister and she loves him!  Andrew asks to hold her several times a day. They are buddies already.

Again we couldn't decide on just one photo shoot picture, so here are the two cutest 2 month pictures.

Sylvia has already grow so much compared to last month.  Her 2 month doctor appointment is in a couple weeks.  Look at her grin!

Andrew begs to have Sylvia snuggle with him in his crib before bed and cries so hard when we take her out.  He grunts and pats his pillow next to him.  He hasn't figured out what to call Sylvia yet.

Sylvia fits into our family perfectly.  She still loves snuggling Mommy and prefers to be held.  Rachel is grateful for the Moby wrap which comes in handy, especially when making dinner.

Getting Used to the Family of Four

Our schedule has naturally changed a little having a new born baby in the house now, but we are figuring things out and having lots of fun with our little family!

Rachel goes to a weekly playgroup with a bunch of friends from church, and a few weeks ago they coordinated a trip to tour the local fire station. Tyler was still on paternity leave so he came along.

We got to see the shiny fire pole the fire fighters slide down when they get a call

We took a look inside an ambulance

Andrew was kind of shy and wanted to be held most of the time

Got to see just how big a fire truck's tires are (1 fire truck tire = 1.2 Andrews)

While this firefighter was showing us the gear they wear to fight fires, a call came on the radio to respond to an accident! They were out the door in less than a minute. Here's a video:

It was fun and cool to see how a fire station operates and how they train to save people's lives!

We also took the chance to enjoy the warmer weather by taking a walk around some little fishing ponds near our house

Sylvia is almost 8 weeks old now. We love having her cute face in our family!

Andrew recently started going to nursery at church. He is sad and shy when we first drop him off, but he soon warms up and has fun playing with the other kids

Her is getting slightly better... but still mostly terrified of vacuum cleaners. Here he is barricaded underneath his high chair when we vacuumed the living room carpet

We also recently went to a birthday party for one of Andrew's friends. He turned 3 years old making him officially twice as old as Andrew is!
