Family of six

Going from a family of four to six comes with a lot of learning opportunities! We've highlighted a few of the in this post.  

A week after the babies were born, Grandma Judd came for a couple days to help.  She came for a few days two different times in between her work travels to help us with our transition.

She loved meeting her new grandchildren, and seeing the older kids as well.

Bath time is now crazy with four kids to wash! The babies did pretty well, they liked sitting in the warm water and getting all clean.

Melody was unsure about the sensation of sitting in water at first, but then she was ok with it. 

Christian even did his very best mafia boss pose during his bath.  What a silly little guy!

Grandma Judd was a big help, and Sylvia loved the post bath time snuggled with grandma.

There were a lot of Grandma snuggles during her visit.  Our baby twins require lots of snuggles.

While Grandma was here there was Chic-fil-a night for Andrew's school.  Grandma watched the babies and we went there for dinner.

The big kids liked having all our attention again.

It was hard to say goodbye  to Grandma Judd when it was time to go, but I think it was even harder for her to say goodbye to her grandbabies!

The older kids have been mostly helpful with the new babies. They always are asking to hold the babies!

We are learning how to get all six of us ready and out the door- practice makes perfect!  We still need a lot of practice.

We went for a nature walk around a small lake near where we live. It was kind of hard to push the double stroller on the dirt during the off road portions of the walk, but the ever helpful big kids Andrew and Sylvia did a good job pushing the stroller back up the hill on the paved path.

Mommy is desperate to get out of the house sometimes so we have been enjoying nice walks around the block.  Here both babies are under the blanket in the Moby wrap together.

It has been a blessing to have had the babies during Tyler's career course because of how much time Tyler is able to spend with the family!  Here he is snuggling with his mini me.

Using formula has been new too- we supplement maybe once a day or one bottle every other day for the babies to give Mommy a break and to make sure the babies don't get dehydrated.  Sylvia loves to feed the babies their bottles.  She is very helpful!

Our hands and hearts are very full!! Mommy sometimes feels like she wishes she was an octopus-mom so she could have eight arms!  But we are loving all the baby snuggles and learning as we go.

Andrew and Sylvia have had to learn how to share Mommy and Daddy's attention which is really hard to do (especially for Sylvia) but as you can see they are loving the twins.
