Goodbye AL

We've said it once, we'll say it a hundred times, we've had a great experience living in Alabama the past six months.  We've made many memories, made great friends, and watched all our children grow up so much.  The time has come to say good-bye.  

We'll miss our ward in Alabama- Tyler was the Sunday School president and Rachel played the piano in Relief Society and sometimes Primary.  Our church family served us in more ways than we could serve them and we will miss them!

Sylvia has grown tremendously since we left Colorado.  She now sleeps in a big girl bed, is potty trained, has grown taller, and filled out more.  She is no longer the baby of the family.  The transition was rough but we've seen less scream tantrums lately and we're optimistic the worst is behind us.  She says she is excited to move to El Paso because she wants a house with stairs.

We'll miss our little Alabama house.  We brought our precious twins home to this house and had many dance parties with the kids.  We liked living on post and being so close to everything, including Tyler's 7 minute commute.  (We won't miss the cockroaches, however.)

We'll miss the trusty Camry, it has served the Carson family well over the years.  We sold it to another family before leaving Alabama.

We'll miss all the fun playgrounds so close to us in the neighborhood.

We'll miss our fun routine of walking a little ways to pick up Andrew from the bus stop after school then going home for lunch and all the kids taking naps.

Andrew will miss his school and teacher, Mrs. Schlund.  He loves her dearly and I know she loved him.  I hope Andrew will always remember his first teacher.  She was wonderful!  Andrew didn't finish the school year in Alabama but he learned how to write his name(!), write letters and numbers, recognize some sight words, shapes, colors, etc.  He really loved Pre-k and learned so much.  He tested above average for naming and identifying letters and counting.  Mrs. Schlund said, "Andrew is a sweet child and I enjoy having him in my class.  He has made many friends and easily shares his toys and games."

We will miss Andrew's best friend, Jaxson!  Andrew said in his prayers to please bless Jaxson to have fun even though I'm not there.  Leaving friends is hard to do, it's even harder when you are young.

Good-bye Alabama!!  Wherever we go at least we'll go together.
