Trunk and Trick or Treating

Happy Halloween! This year Andrew said, "this is the BEST Halloween ever!"  Kids make the holidays so much more fun and exciting.

This year we dressed up as puppy dogs, because the kids love to pretend they are puppies. Tyler didn't want floppy ears and a tail, so to keep with the family theme he was a slice of bacon!

Here is Tyler's prop.  Not only was it hilarious, it gave off that bacon smell too.  His costume was very popular this year.  He was bacon people crazy. (get it?)

Our set up for the ward trunk or treat.  Most people's reaction, "Free puppies!!??!!"

At the ward Halloween party, there was a chili cook-off before the trunk or treating. While trying the different foods that people brought, we noticed that one person made yellow cake and tried to pass it off as corn bread! It was fun to see all our friends in fun family costumes too.

Between our ward trunk or treat and trick or treating on Halloween day, we really cleaned up on candy!  Here the kids are enjoying their spoils.

Puppies love bacon!

The kids waiting for the trick or treating to start on Halloween.

We walked around the whole neighborhood and didn't pass out candy at all this year.  The kids loved going from house to house.  Sylvia's bucket was so heavy with candy by the end but she wouldn't let us hold it.  That was when we finally could convince them to head home.

The "best Halloween ever" will be hard to top next year!

  1. Looks like you had a great time on Halloween! You're right, holidays are much more fun with children around. The puppy costumes turned out really cute. Tyler definitely has a knack for finding silly costumes to wear for Halloween. I have a suggestion-- next year your family can add tomato, lettuce and bread costumes to Tyler's bacon and be a BLT sandwich!
