For those readers who may not know, Tyler has been deployed to Afghanistan. The plans changed many times the past few months the but final word came that he was to be gone for up to nine months.
The family farewell was held at the Hangar (you can see helicopters in the background). Isn't this the sweetest picture of Andrew and Tyler? We will really miss Daddy.

Daddy's backpack was a little too heavy for Andrew.
After the ceremony we said our goodbyes and Daddy got on a bus and then a plane to the other side of the world. We are proud of Tyler and support him 100% and hope this deployment will be a good experience. We are so grateful for all the support we have already felt from friends, neighbors, church members, and other military wives for Rachel and the kids. This is uncharted territory for us, being his first deployment, but knowing we are an eternal family gives us a hope and peace that separation cannot dampen.

ReplyDeleteThis blog post brought tears to my eyes. Andrew and Sylvia are too little to understand that their daddy will be gone for the next nine months. But on the plus side, they're too little to remember it when they're older. We're also praying for your family every day! Love you all sooooo much! Mom
