4th of July Reunion

We had a big Carson family reunion at our house on the 4th of July. This was the first of three reunions we went to this July. It was really fun spending so much time with family!

(former) Girls of Heritage Halls (and offspring)

There was lots of yummy food to eat! Andrew would sit down eating all of his food watching the other kids while the ran around crazy having fun.

Our sectional could fit most of the family on it.

We had some fun dance parties!

Grandma and Granddad playing with the kiddos.

We had a service project where we worked on our yard. (The next door neighbors were moving in that day too)

We were really grateful for everyone's hard work to make the yard look nice

And expand the garden.

Even the kiddos worked hard!

Makayla loved playing with baby Sylvia

Granddad shooting off alka-seltzer rockets with the kids.

One day we went up to see the cliff dwellings in Manitou Springs.

The kids had lots of fun running around

and exploring the buildings carved into the rock

It was a pretty cool place to visit

Hello Sylvia and mommy!

The Lee's in front of a teepee (Sophia wasn't too happy about it)

Lissa and Jason own some property in Colorado, and that afternoon the boys went there to go shooting.

Jason's mom and dad currently live there and we got to meet them.

They had lots of cool guns they let us shoot.

These close up pictures of the kiddos are so precious!

Gracie!

Great Grandma Carson was able to join us for a few days too. Here is Andrew helping her prune the rose bushes in front of the house.

Kids love bubbles so much

Playing on the couch

We drove to the hangar where Tyler works to look at the helicopters. On the way we saw a double rainbow!

Here's Great Grandma Carson in a Chinook

This is Kiera, your pilot speaking.

Garrett and Krystal's family outside a chinook

The kids loved the ground vehicles at the hangar too.

We had a very rainy spring so everything was green and the steam was higher than usual

Here's Adri taking a picture of adult nap time

The weather was hot (but not as bad as Houston!) so the kids loved playing with the hose, water balloons, and a slip and slide.

Eating some watermelon after playing in the water.

Kids love watching movies.

They can even be entertained without adult supervision. They just sit there staring at the screen and don't move.

We had a family birthday party to celebrate all the Summer birthdays

Andrew got a helicopter toy, a cool "Andrew's Room" sign, and pillowcase from Grandma and Granddad

We ate lots of good food. One night we had a Smore cook out.

Nobody looked as cool as Makayla eating her ice cream, though.

Adam and Sylvia playing on the bouncer.

Garrett wanted to ride in a helicopter and Tyler was able to get them in back during a normal training flight.

It was really cool, but unfortunately only active duty military members are authorized to ride in Army helicopters so the rest of the family couldn't come along.

We had professional family photos taken while we were all together. Here are some ones we took on our own during the shoot.

The grandchildren love their grand parents!

Savannah used to have red hair like Sylvia

Sylvia loves being held by Great Grandma Carson!

We loved having everyone come visit us this summer. Our kids got to know each other better and we learned a bit more about our own parents and grand parents also. Here's to more family reunions in the future! (the glitches in the panorama make this picture hilarious)

  1. These are some great photos from the reunion! I'll admit I've been putting off posting pictures because there are so many to look through. We sure had a fantastic time, and really, really, appreciate you hosting it, plus all the fun activities you had planned. We have a truly wonderful family.

  2. I love that picture of Rachel and Sylvia at the Cliff Dwellings. It's one of my favorite pictures from the reunion! And good catch noticing I was waving in the picture of the adults napping ;) Once again, you have me stumped - I can't tell if Tyler or Rachel wrote this post. I think Tyler....?
