Alamogordo again

We took a trip up to Alamogordo to visit one of our favorite stops, the Space Museum!

There is a German Air Force unit stationed at Holloman AFB in Alamogordo, and they had one of their jets on display at the Space Museum

Seeing things about space is cool, but so is seeing jets!

We played on the playground for a bit before going inside the museum. It was a nice day and the kids were glad to run around for a while after being cooped up in the van on the drive up.

After the kids played for a while, we looked at the other displays they had outside the museum.

They had rockets and a space capsule and some other cool things to see.

Sylvia is good at making cool poses for pictures!

The twins like toddling around together!

We had never gone into the planetarium on previous visits, so this time we decided to check it out! Christian had a hard time sitting still during the presentation, so he and Tyler left about half way through to walk around the building.

After the planetarium we took the elevator up to the top of the space museum.

We spent some time trying to land a space shuttle on a computer flight simulator. It was more difficult than you would think!

There is a portion of the museum that has Star Trek exhibits. It's fun that they have both real and fictional displays about space at the museum.

Melody and Christian checking out a tribble!

Taking a little rest with Daddy.

Christian is go go go most of the time, but eventually he gets worn out and needs to rest. Luckily there was a space walk chair to sit down in and pretend to fly around while you sit and rest.

There is a play area in the museum where you can put together your own space craft. Here is what Andrew made.

The boys checking out the view from the big windows.

The last thing we did at the museum was suit up for a space walk on the moon.

Christian was all alone on the moon's surface for a while, and forgot to wear his space helmet!

Thankfully Tyler found him and helped him get the rest of his space suit on.

The whole family made it to the moon!

The Alamogordo library has a pretty fun kids area, so we went there after we finished at the Space Museum.

There are toys, puzzles, and of course books at the library for the kids to enjoy.

We had a fun time in Alamogordo and spent the rest of the weekend enjoying the nice summer weather!
