Sylvia's Blessing/Easter Weekend

We had a great Easter weekend! Rachel's parents came into town Friday afternoon and we were able to enjoy a walk through Red Rock Open Space.  Andrew enjoyed throwing rocks into the lake.  It was a little chilly but Sylvia was warm in the blanket and moby wrap.

Tyler's parents came into town late Friday night so Saturday morning was the first time they saw the kiddos.  This is Grandad Carson's first time meeting Sylvia baby!  Andrew is a proud big brother.

We also decorated Easter eggs Saturday morning while we watched General Conference.

Both sets of Grandparents helped Andrew color eggs.  He had a lot of fun but liked to throw the eggs into the cups of dye. 

When we told him not to do that, he became frustrated and squeezed his egg in his hand and crushed it like the Hulk.  Then he ate it. 

Little Sylvia slept most of the weekend, but when she was being held and loved by grandparents, she was kind of fussy.  Maybe it was because she was getting over a stuffy nose.  But even her sad face is kind of cute.

Saturday afternoon we went to tour the Glen Eyrie castle and grounds.  We were there most of the afternoon and learned a lot of cool facts about General Palmer (the man who built the mansion/castle).

This was the bathroom that was designed with many cool features ahead of its time. 

The castle now belongs to a non denomination Christian organization who hold tours, camps, and many other events on the property.

We spotted some deer grazing on the grounds.  

Andrew and Grandpa Judd tried to get close to the deer.  Andrew is always curious about animals he sees.  From squirrels to birds to deer, he likes to follow them and see how close he can get.

Sunday morning we started getting the food ready for Easter dinner.  Andrew helped make Sylvia's blessing cupcakes.  

The cupcakes had marshmallow bunny ears to make them more festive. 

Andrew also helped with dishes! (Actually he just loves playing in the sink)

We listened to General Conference in our newly completed basement! Our old couches are now downstairs and the new sectional couch is upstairs.

Mommy and Sylvia are all ready for the blessing.  We blessed her between General Conference Sessions and one of the bishopric members and his wife came over to our house.  

We are grateful for our beautiful, special little girl and that her daddy could give her a blessing.

Grandma Carson made Sylvia's blessing dress and it looked just perfect.

We are so glad we could have the grandparents there for the special day!

Sunday afternoon we enjoyed the warm Spring weather and had a little Easter egg hunt.

Andrew didn't get too excited about searching for the eggs, because he just wanted "num-nums" from inside.

Andrew sure did love to play with all his grandparents.  They played ball, walked around outside, explored, worked in the kitchen, and played with toys.  Andrew loves his grandparents and spent time with each of them while they were here visiting.

Grandma and Grandpa Judd left early Monday morning and continued west to Utah. 

Monday evening we went to dinner at the Phillips' house (The Carson's friends from Germany).  Here their kids are showing Andrew their spotted geckos.  Andrew thought they where little dinosaurs because he made his dinosaur growling noise.

We had a lot of fun over the Easter weekend and enjoyed everyone's company.  Sylvia is a wonderful addition and is loved by all.  Thank you grandparents for coming to see us!
